Sky Garage Track Day

Today, i drove in the Sky Garage/ Himawari Racing `soukoukai` basically `track day` in English at Mobara circuit. I was running grip class with my S15. Pretty happy considering it was my first time on a race track in Japan and my first event outside of autocross back in the states. 

This Levin was killing it all day, really good driving and the car was ultra clean... for some reason i really like how you can see the reflection of the rest of the track in the side of the car. It`s small stuff like this that just makes me enjoy taking pics.

Advance Flat Out Special NSX

This wide body NSX from Advance was putting down some hot laps on Fuji`s main course. The sound of the high revving NA being spewed out a titanium exhaust really is a mechanical symphony.

RWB`s Yves Piaget 993

You never know what is gonna show up at the circuit, it`s one of the reasons i love Japan. I was walking towards the paddock at the Sessions meet to watch some of the unrelated grip racing that was happening on track when the Yves Piaget pulled in. The owner also had was also taking in some of the action on the circuit.

110 Mark II at Sessions

Pretty cool to see this Mark II at the Sessions event. Not a traditional VIP platform but it did look great, sort of a mix between drift styling with hints of VIP with the BBS wheels.

There was a pretty good track session going on at the same time as the Sessions meet. This wide bodied NSX was trouncing everyone.

Shakotan Masters

Here are some of the cars waiting to go out on track. One thing to note is that only a handful of cars were on air (none in this picture). The Japanese VIP guys really take pride in running on full coils. Some of the cars were so low that they could not get out of the 2 inch high driveway without going side ways and guys pushing down on the trunk so that the rear tires could get traction.

Just got back...

Just got back from Fuji, what an awesome day it was. First, i got to see about 500 of the best VIP cars from across Japan gathered in one spot. Second, a bunch of those cars went out on track slammed and oni-cambered as hell hitting speeds of probably 100+mph down the Fuji straight. Third, was a grip track session with a very bad ass NSX and others. Fourth, the RWB Yves Piaget 993 showed up and i got some killer shots with Mt. Fuji in the background. Yup sometimes things just come together.

Wet Mark II

This is the less well known of the Gold Rush GXs, this GX61 eagle nose Corona Mark II hardtop. Most get star struck by the green GX71 but this car is equally as sick. Not really much to say about this car so i`ll let the pictures do the talking.
