Pretty cool AA63 Carina
The owner Ito-san wanted something different than a Hachi Roku so he decided to go with this Carina. According to the article, he picked the Carina because unlike the front heavy Hachi the Carina has near 50/50 weight distribution. The only problem was the car was heavier than the AE86 so he decided to just strip the interior.

Power comes from the standard 4AG equipped with a set of ITBs and 264 and 256 degree cams, the fuel pump was switched out to one from a FC RX7, the fly wheel was replaced by a light weight Toda unit and the radiator and fans were upgraded as well. Car also has roll center adjusters and the steering angle has been increased. wheels are SSR Reverse Mesh 15x8j -11 rear and what look like dori dori mesh on the front

  1. I agree it is a pretty cool Carina!
The hachi already has a 53:47 distribution but I never knew the Carina coupe actually had a better weight distribution as they were never promoted with that ideal distribution...
The Carina coupe AA63 is indeed a bit heavier than the hachi (115kg to be precise) but at the same time you will get IRS as a bonus.
